GiCode

Use your repositories in the Files app

Activate the GiCode location once so other apps can reach your files.

Every repository also appears in the iOS Files app under GiCode. Other apps can open, import and save files there.

Activate the location (once)

iOS keeps a newly added location disabled until you switch it on:

  1. In GiCode open Settings → Storage & security → Files app. This opens the Files app. (Or open Files yourself.)
  2. Tap Browse and choose the GiCode entry with the jellyfish icon under Locations.
  3. When iOS asks “Activate GiCode?”, tap Activate.

Your repositories are listed right away.

Two entries called GiCode?

If you ever installed an older developer version, its location can remain next to the current one. The current app uses the jellyfish icon; the other entry is a leftover and can be ignored.

Good to know

  • Changes you make in Files are picked up by GiCode and show up in the Changes tab.
  • The hidden .git folder is not shown in Files.
