Create and use access tokens
Tokens replace your password for HTTPS Git access.
Hosts like GitHub and GitLab no longer accept your account password for Git. Create a personal access token in the host's web settings instead and enter it in GiCode as the password.
Scopes you need
- GitHub:
repo(andworkflowto change workflow files). - GitLab:
read_repository,write_repositoryandapifor CI, issues and merge requests. - Gitea / Forgejo: read and write for repository and, for issues/PRs, issue and pull request scopes.
How GiCode stores them
Tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and are only sent to the host they belong to. They are never sent to us.
