Why GiCode exists
Git doesn't only belong on a laptop. Why I'm building a private Git client for iPhone.
A merge request is waiting, the pipeline is red and your laptop is at home. That is what GiCode is for: a fast Git client for iPhone that lets you clone repositories, edit code, commit and push – and keep an eye on pipelines, pull requests and issues.
Private from day one
GiCode has no account and no server of its own. Access tokens and your SSH key live in the iOS Keychain, SSH host keys are pinned on first connection, and the app only talks to the services you add yourself. There is no analytics and no advertising.
Fairly priced
- Free: 5 repositories and 2 accounts, all features.
- Try Pro once for 7 days, no payment.
- GiCode Pro is a one-time purchase – no subscription.
In this devlog I write down how GiCode is made: decisions, mistakes and fixes. New versions are listed in the changelog.
